Are videos on YouTube automatically monetized ? How to monetize?

Are YouTube videos automatically monetized ? When I upload video on YouTube channel, is it going to be immediately monetized, or do I need to turn on the monetization, or do I need to ask to have videos monetized ?

To get your YouTube videos monetized, you need to apply to "YouTube's Partner Program".

But you can do this after you have at least 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours in the past year.
