Can I connect microphone with jack to headphone port on laptop ?

Yes, in case of many new laptops there is a so called "Combo audio port" or "Combo jack", that can be used for both headphones or external microphone.

But this depends on your laptop model, so before you plug microphone into the port, you have to check if your laptop has a combo port.
