Hi,

Both are "Core Web Vitals" user-centric metrics, focused on website's performance.

First contentful paint measures how long it takes the browser to render the first DOM element.

Largest contentful paint measures how long it takes for the largest content to become visible in the viewport.

It is difficult to say if FCP or LCP is more important. FCP measures how fast the website reacts. LCP measures how fast is the content loaded.
