Using an iron is easier than it looks.
In most cases it is all about the clothing material or "dots", that represent temperature levels. When you look at the temperature control wheel on your iron, you should be able to set temperature according the name of clothing material or according to the number of dots.
Before you start with ironing, you have to check the care label on your clothes. Care label says what material is clothing made of, what temperature to set on washing machine and iron.
How to find out what temperature to use to iron your clothes:Search for ironing symbols. Iron icon should have one or more dots inside. The meaning of dots inside of iron icon:
- 1 dot - Low temperature, approx. 110°C / 230°F
- 2 dots - Medium temperature, approx. 150°C / 300°F
- 3 dots - High temperature, approx. 200°C / 390°F
Then simply match the number of dots on iron's temperature control wheel with the number of dots on care label. If there are no dots on the temperature control wheel on your iron, then check the information about clothing material, that should be written on care label. Set the temperature according to the clothing material. If you are not sure what material are your clothes made of, or if your clothes are made of more materials (for example 50% cotton and 50% synthetics), use a lower temperature.
- Delicates - depends on the type of material, but up to 100°C / 210°F
- Polyester - up to 150°C / 300°F
- Cotton - up to 200°C / 390°F
