Camera with more megapixels can create a photos with greater details. In general, more megapixels mean larger image dimensions and bigger file size.
One megapixel is 1 million pixels. To get the number of megapixels, you have to multiply image width and height. For example image resolution 8000 pixels x 6000 pixels = 48 megapixels.
But the number of camera's megapixels
is not the only factor, that affects the quality of taken photos.
The good camera also have:
- Quality sensor and lens
- Good image stabilization
- Effective image compression
If the image compression level is set too high, the photo quality is decreasing.
