When will Ethereum pass / overtake Bitcoin in price ?

Is Ethereum's price going to be higher than Bitcoin's price ? If yes, when is Ethereum expected to overtake Bitcoin in price ?

According to some financial analytics, Ethereum is expected to pass Bitcoin in price. Goldman Sachs says Ethereum could overtake Bitcoin as the dominant cryptocurrency. But it can happen in the long-term future, definitely not soon.

Ethereum's advantage is, that it is improving quite quickly. It switches to proof of stake and also it offers the smart contracts functionalities.

Bitcoin is the first generation cryptocurrency, that is not developing so fast. It is based on proof of work, but it is still the strongest and dominant cryptocurrency. When you check the ETH/BTC ratio, you can see Ethereum is approaching Bitcoin, but the price difference between them is large. Currently, Bitcoin is probably the most popular cryptocurrency, that is supported widely, more than other cryptocurrency.

When you compare the prices, you can find that Bitcoin's price is currently approx. 15 times higher than Ethereum's price, but Market capitalization is "only" almost 2.5 times higher and Traded volume in USD in 24 hours is often only a bit higher and sometimes it is even very similar.

The difference between traded volumes indicates, that Bitcoin is often used as a store of value. It is not used "so much" for money transactions.
